Driveway, Sidewalk and Roadway Safety
It is mid-morning on a stunningly bright, cold, winter day. You are driving out of the parking lot, finished with previous business and thinking ahead to your next destination. Are you concentrating on your driving? Can you see the stop sign that is flooded by sunlight at the end of the driveway? It's the stop sign located at the end of the driveway designed to make you stop and look for hidden foot traffic on the sidewalk before you proceed to drive out on to the street!
As you approach the end of the driveway you can see a person across the street. That person is directly in front of you walking on the sidewalk. What if there are other people walking on the sidewalk closest to the driveway and they are hidden from your view by the two existing buildings on either side of the driveway? How would you be able to see them? How could a pedestrian walking down the sidewalk toward the driveway be able to tell that there is oncoming traffic leaving the parking lot?
Safety Convex Mirrors could help prevent an accident in this application! You could mount two model # 66062S Heavy Duty Stainless Steel Mirrors on the existing building walls on both sides of the driveway. Locate them at about 8 feet high x 3 feet back from the sidwalk. The safety convex mirrors would enable a driver to see pedestrians on the sidewalk or motor vehicle traffic that otherwise may have been hidden from view. They would also allow a pedestrian to see any oncoming motor vehicles about to exit the driveway!
Think safely, be proactive and use Safety Convex Mirrors to help prevent accidents!
The DuraVision Stainless Steel Dome Mirrors are highly polished and made from 1.2mm thick stainless steel. Sophisticated polishing is then applied to meet our high quality characteristics.
An optional full steel frame can be acquired in order to extend our longer duty cycle life. In addition, this type of construction along with an unbreakable stainless steel face allows these mirrors to be applied and used in "Corrections Facilities".
Another option for the DuraVision Stainless Steel Dome Mirrors is to supply them with counterstepped anchor holes in lieu of a frame. This allows you to use tamper proof fasteners such as Rawl Spikes or Torx Head security screws.
The DuraVision Stainless Steel Dome Mirrors are ideal for use in applications where a high strength, vandal proof mirror is required.
When you need to have an easy view of inaccessible areas or you want to inspect vehicles and equipment, Inspection Mirrors offer a safe way to visually inspect high or hard to access areas.
Inspection Mirrors are lightweight and durable. They are made out of highly reflective acrylic. Inspection Mirrors are used as a portable mirror and are supplied with an adjustable telescopic handle. The handle is made from durable aluminum and has twist locking capability. This mirror can be used to view around, above or below almost any hard to see area. An optional lighting system can be utilized at the base or handle for added visibility in dark or low light applications.
The LookUnder Mirror is manufactured specifically for visual inpsection underneath large objects. The LookUnder Mirror is mobile by means of caster wheels. The wheels allow easy positioning under the equipment being inspected while the deep convex mirror ensures a maximum viewing area. This mirror also has an aluminum telescopic handle and can be supplied with an optional lighting system. Its light weight makes the mirror easy and more comfortable to use over long periods of time. The LookUnder Mirror is supplied with an easy storage loop. It also comes with a storage bag to protect the mirror when it is not in use. Various sizes and handle lengths are available for this mirror.
The most effective and economical way of preventing costly accidents and collisions in the work place is through the use of convex mirrors!
There are numerous places where your vision can be obscured or impaired that can cause potentially dangerous situations. These places are factories, public places, warehouses, schools, rest homes and hospitals. Costly accidents can be the result of a lack of vision leading to collisions between people and vehicles or moving machinery. These accidents can produce may things such as damage to stock and machinery, delayed shipping/delivery dates, replacing damaged stock, cancelled orders, safety retraining for employees, not to mention injury to human beings.
There are other applications where the use of convex mirrors are beneficial. They are to monitor the use of machines, conveyor belts and assembly lines. Managers, supervisors, forepersons etc. can view factory floors, surveillance of public areas, public counters and hospital wards. Security areas or staff only areas can also be monitored.
Various traffic situations can be monitored with convex mirrors to help avoid accidents. Convex mirrors should be installed and used in shipping/receiving bays, at the corners of buildings, parking lots and where vehicles enter and exit the main road over a pedestrian sidewalk where your vision is obscured by buildings or high fences on the sides of the driveway.
Remember, convex mirrors require no maintenance except occasional cleaning/wipe down. Therefore, the first and last cost for this safe way of helping to avoid accidents and injury to people and damage to machinery or stock is the initial cost of the convex mirror!
We have been hard at work and now offer 3 new products in our ForkLift Rear Vision Mirrors.
First is a Half Face Mirror, 8 1/2 inch x 4 1/4 inch. This mirror comes complete with a bracket that can be anchored to the "cab upright supports" or anchored through the "cab roof". This mirror is strong and easily adjustable by means of a molded plastic adjustable ball joint on the back.
The other 2 mirrors are 6 inch and 8 inch Round Mirrors. They are supplied with a stainless steel back. The mounting hardware that is used is a press fit bracketing system. This bracket can be anchored to the "cab upright support".
If you don't see a mirror that you have an interest in, please ask us about it!
The painted hardboard backs on all our DuraVision Indoor/Outdoor Mirrors has been replaced with ACM (Aluminum Composite Material). This composite material is 4mm thick. It consists of a thin sheet of aluminum bonded to both sides of rigid plastic. Aluminum Composite Material is more expensive than painted hardboard. However, due to our manufacturing efficiencies, we do not need to increase pricing!
There are 6 DuraVision mounting hardware options to choose from.
* J-Bracket and Adaptor is the standard mounting hardware supplied with all Indoor/Outdoor and Heavy Duty Mirrors. Attaching hardware for anchoring into a wall or smooth surface is not included. This bracket and adaptor allows horizontal and vertical mirror adjustment on the j-bracket.
* U-Bolt Pack to attach the J-Bracket to a pole/pipe. Optional extra 3 inch U-Bolts are available to be used in conjunction with the J-Bracket so that mirrors can be mounted to 3 inch diameter round poles/pipes. The U-Bolt pack is an option for use with Indoor/Outdoor and Heavy Duty Mirrors.
* Clamp Bracket for pole mounting is the standard mounting hardware supplied with all Deluxe Stainless Steel Mirrors. The Clamp Bracket Assembly is for use on a 3 inch diameter pole/pipe. It has a square mirror mounting plate welded on to the end of the clamp bracket to attach the mirror too.
* Wall Mount Adaptor to attach to an existing wall. Optional Wall Mount Adaptor can only be used in conjunction with the Clamp Bracket Assembly. Wall anchoring screws are not included.
* Full Dome Mirrors are supplied standard with Dome Top Screws and a Suspension Kit. This allows a Full Dome Mirror to either be screwed in to the existing ceiling or suspended from the existing ceiling.
* Half Dome Mirrors and Quarter Dome Mirrors are supplied standard with Dome Top Screws. The Half Dome Mirror is typically wall anchored at ceiling height. Quarter Dome Mirrors are typically ceiling anchored in a corner where two walls meet at a 90 degree angle.
* Ask about our Drop-In Ceiling Dome Mirror! It slots in to a suspended ceiling and replaces a drop-in tile in the ceiling.
We have made a few changes to our cleaning instructions for the "stainless steel."
Stainless Steel Faced Glass Mirrors:
It is to your advantage the clean the mirror face of any grit/dust/particles, by means of compressed air, pressurized water or wiping with soap and water.
Next, after the mirror face is clean and dry, apply a good amount of chalk dust or flour. Then rub the mirror face down with a soft, lint free dry cloth.
Acrylic and Polycarbonate Faced Mirrors:
Polycarbonate and acrlyic faced mirrors are softer than glass. Therefore just clean with soap and water to remove grit/dust/particles. Then use a soft, lint free damp cloth to apply a non abrasive polish. The polish should be DuraVision Acrylic & Polycarbonate mirror polish (which can be acquired from us) or Johnson & Johnson's Pledge. Clean and maintain your mirrors!
Have you ever wondered why customers prefer DuraVision Mirrors over a number of alternative manufacturers around the world? Well, I'm going to tell you!
* DuraVision chooses to use Mirror Quality Grade Virgin Acrylic sheet which is UV stabilized, a more expensive choice, not the cheapest, just the best one.
* Cheaper acrylic sheet shows noticeable deterioration in only 12 months. Especially when the cheaper sheet is made from re-ground acrylic without UV stabilizers.
* DuraVision's Mirror Quality Grade Virgin Acrylic sheet is supplied with a 30 year warranty not to deteriorate by more than 5% and has 92% clarity.
* The curvature radius in a DuraVision mirror is designed for the best image.
* Bracketing hardware attaching systems supplied with DuraVision mirrors do not flex in adverse weather conditions. They are robust and supplied with a galvanized finish. This finish means they will not corrode like light duty, cheaper, non-treated units do.
* Rather than take the approach of "one size fits all" like some of our competitors adopt, DuraVision provides a wide range of sizes and styles. This wide range of choices is designed to address specific use/user applications.
* DuraVision manufactures only convex mirrors which allows all our resources to be focused on making the best convex mirror possible!
* 20 countries worlwide distribute, purchase and use quality built DuraVision mirrors. Including several which are known for cheap manufacturing with a very low level of quality control. Even in those markets people prefer quality!
DuraVision Convex Mirror Systems has just issued a 30 year guarantee on our acrylic mirror sheet! This is unheard of in the flat plastics industry. The guarantee has some interesting points:
Please consider these points when specifying and purchasing DuraVision mirrors. All of our products use this high quality acrylic.
